EBSCO Library Databases: Search Interface Update

EBSCO Library Databases are about to get a new look. All of the features are still there, but you’ll find them in slightly different places.

Why change now?

The vendor will decommission the old interface this fall. If we change now, you will have all summer to get the feel of the new platform; no surprises for Fall semester classes.

What are the three biggest changes?

1. You can limit to online, peer reviewed content when you start your search, rather than afterward.
2. The search filters are pushed out of your way until you need them. Choose “All Filters” to bring all search limiters to the front.
3. Use “Access Options” to open a PDF, find WSU article access outside of EBSCO, or request the article.

What are the two biggest questions?

1. I like the old version can I go back? Sorry. We aren’t able to go back to the old version. In a few months, EBSCO will not distribute the old version.
2. I want to learn more about my favorite database. Who do I contact? Your subject librarian can answer your questions about your favorite database. Call or email your subject librarian.
