Visiting the Archives During COVID-19

Special Collection & Archives will be open by appointment only Tuesday-Friday from 10am-4pm and Wednesday evenings until 8pm. Appointments must be made at least one week in advance of visit. Wednesday appointments are not available during semester breaks or summer term.

  • A maximum of 2 concurrent research appointments per day.
  • An appointment may include up to two researchers as long as they are working together.
  • Visit only during your scheduled appointment time.
  • All archives visitors are expected to follow the Wright State University Health and Safety Protocols while on campus and in the Archives.
  • Masks are required for both researchers during appointments. The Archives will not be able to supply masks for researchers.
  • Maintain social distancing at a minimum of 6 feet from staff and other researchers.
  • Researchers must wash hands in one of the restrooms before entering the Archives. Hand sanitizer and hand lotions cannot be used immediately prior to contact with archival materials.
  • Researchers must stop and check-in at the service desk on the first floor prior to coming up to the archives.
  • Place all non-essential research items in assigned bin (coat, hat, laptop bag, backpack, etc.).
  • Place completed paperwork in researcher paperwork bin.
  • Remain at your table except for bathroom breaks or to use the microfilm reader.
  • Place all materials (collections, books, etc.) on designated cart.
  • Book stacks are closed, but Archives staff can retrieve all publications of interest.
  • Please note that some material (collections, books, journals, microfilm) may not be available for 3 days due to a quarantine on all material that has been accessed by researchers and staff.

Special Collection & Archives staff will:

  • Follow all Wright State University and other public health recommendations.
  • Will wear masks and may wear gloves while handling material for researchers.
  • Quarantine all browsed materials for a minimum of three (3) days.
  • Limit capacity in archives and library.
  • Disinfect public equipment, tables, carts, storage bins, and work stations between use.
