What is Artificial Intelligence (AI)? Dunbar Library now has a LibGuide that gives an overview of what AI is, the types of AI, ethics, and the classroom use/policies. Coursera, a global learning platform, has multiple courses focusing on AI and we have linked them in the guide.
There are three different types of AI that are commonly used. Generative, Machine Learning, and Deep Learning. Having an understanding of different types of AI will allow you to effectively use AI for different tasks. Under each ty of AI, there are examples of what that version of AI is used for, and explanation video, and a list of free applications.
Under the ethics tab, there is a list of ethical principals that should be kept in mind while using AI. There is also a quick explanation video of ethics in AI.
The last, but arguably the most important information is on the classroom use/policies tab. There is information from Wright State University and the Academic Integrity Standards about using AI. The guide has some examples of different universities using AI in their curriculum as well as AI policies from multiple institutions.
Publishing AI assisted writing includes special consideration. You'll find a list of publishers along with their rules about using AI in published works. Check the publisher's regulations before submission.
