You’re invited to join us at the annual Friends of the Libraries luncheon as Emily Morgan shares her experiences as an education major at Wright State, the significance of libraries in her life, and how one of her books made it all the way to the International Space Station to be read by an astronaut.

Emily graduated from Wright State University in 1996 with a Bachelor’s degree in education and has dedicated her career to science education first as a teacher, then a curriculum developer and workshop facilitator, and now a writer. She is the author of the Next Time You See picture book series for children and the book Balance Screen Time with Green Time for K-12 educators. She is co-author of the Picture-Perfect STEM program published by the National Science Teaching Association.

Emily has conducted STEM and literacy workshops for school districts, universities, and education conferences nationwide. She served as a K-12 science consultant for the Hamilton County Education Service Center, as the science leader for the High AIMS Consortium, Moonshot Ohio Coordinator for the Ohio Afterschool Network, and is a board member of iSPACE: The STEM Learning Place and Lakota Robotics.

Emily lives in West Chester, Ohio with her husband, their teenage son, and a golden retriever named Copernicus.

A lunch buffet will be provided, which includes Italian garden salad with Italian and Ranch dressings, Italian chicken, vegetarian stuffed peppers, garlic mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetable medley, assorted breads, variety of desserts, and iced tea, regular and decaf coffee.

Registration is required for this event and must be completed by April 8, 2026. All proceeds benefit the Friends of the Libraries. If you need accommodations for this event, please call (937) 775-2380 five business days in advance.
