Commemorating 30 Years of the Dayton Peace Accords

November 12, 2025

This month marks the 30th anniversary of the Dayton Peace Accords—a landmark agreement that helped bring an end to the Bosnian War. Beginning on November 1, 1995, the United States hosted peace negotiations at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio. For more than two weeks, leaders from Bosnia, Croatia, and Serbia, along with international diplomats, worked through tense and uncertain discussions. Despite global skepticism, the parties reached an agreement on November 21, 1995, laying out the groundwork for a formal signing in Paris the following month.
