ReyRey in Dunbar: A Brew-tiful Friendship

In August, ReyRey Café—the student run coffee shop on campus—moved to the first floor of Dunbar Library. And since they’ve reopened, it has been full steam ahead.
“The start of the semester has been crazy!!” Logan Dreyer, ReyRey’s Chief Marketing Officer, told us.
ReyRey relocated from its original home in Rike Hall, where it had been for the past ten years, over the summer. In an Instagram post, the team shared that they’d miss their longtime space but were excited to continue serving students in Dunbar. So far, it has been a big success. Despite the new location, people are still lining up for coffees, teas, and smoothies during their daily grind.
The biggest difference between Rike and Dunbar? “The amount of space,” Logan says. While the operation area in Rike was larger than the new setup in Dunbar, there is more seating for customers now. The workers have rearranged the furniture to improve the flow of the line and create a cozy atmosphere for those waiting on their orders.
The team of ten has a number of goals this year. Some are business-focused, like growing their social media presence (give them a follow! @reyreycafe) and continuing to build their brand on campus. Others are more community-driven. Logan shared that they want to create a social atmosphere in the new space and have it be “somewhere people come to just hangout.”
One way they hope to make that happen is by hosting events. Logan says while they already have a few ideas brewing, they welcome more. You can email your recommendations to reyreycafe@wright.edu.
The library also plans to continue hosting events in that room, including our Crafternoon in the Library series and Bingo nights. Keep an eye on our socials to stay in the loop:
So come by ReyRey Café to try the drink of the week with a friend, grab a snack before a long study session, or attend one the many future events. Because if the start of this semester has shown us anything, it’s that libraries, coffee, and community are the perfect blend.
