How do I read call numbers?
Call numbers serve several purposes. A call number is like an address; it describes the exact location of the book and tells where to find the book on the shelves. Each book in the library has a unique call number. Call numbers also group books on similar subjects together so once you've found a book you can browse other books on the same subject. The WSU Libraries use several kinds of call numbers and each system uses letter codes to organize materials.
