ABOUT THE FRIENDS
The Friends of the Libraries encourage contributions of money, books, manuscripts, and other library materials to help the University Libraries maintain the excellence of its collections. The group fosters recognition of the libraries' collections and staff, assists in awards to exceptional library student assistants and WSU top scholars, and provides social opportunities for people sharing an enthusiasm for books, technology, and learning.
JOIN THE FRIENDS OF THE LIBRARIES
Become a friend of the Wright State University Libraries and assist the University Libraries in their important work. Established in 1978, the Friends of the Libraries have sponsored or supported such events and activities as:
- Annual Luncheon
- Library Student Assistant Awards
- Recognition of Top Scholars
- Legacy Book Program
- Exhibitions and receptions for Special Collections and Archives
- Paul Laurence Dunbar Poetry Project
Since 1995, Friends of the Libraries have awarded more than 200 Library Student Assistant Awards totaling over $90,000, and honored more than 90 top scholars for their achievements.
BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP
- Borrowing privileges in the University Libraries and participating OhioLINK libraries (starting at the Webster membership level)
- Subscription to the libraries' quarterly newsletter
- Invitations to all Friends of the Libraries events
- Discounts at WSU Bookstore (discounts do not apply to textbooks, medical reference books or supplies, calculators, software, special orders, and graduation gowns)
