Please pardon any noise and disruption this week (May 26-29) as we begin moving furniture and relocating offices in preparation for the libraries’ consolidation. This phase should be completed by Friday, May 29, and things will be back to “quiet” as students prepare for their finals.
Effective Monday April 27, the option to request materials for pickup at the Fordham Library location will no longer be available from the drop-down menu in the library catalog. Instead, books and media requested in the local or OhioLINK catalog should be requested for pickup at the Dunbar Library.
Borrowers are encouraged to carefully review their pickup notices since items requested on and before April 27 will still be shipped to the Fordham location. This change is being made now so that requests in process will be completed before the Fordham Library closes to the public on June 12.
With classroom construction scheduled to begin in the Medical Sciences building on June 15, Fordham’s last official day to be open to the public will be Friday, June 12. At that time, Fordham’s course reserves, reference, and AV collections will be moved to the Dunbar Library. read more »

In response to the current budget climate in the state, we in University Libraries are asking ourselves how we might reduce expenses while preserving the quality of our operations. We have considered all of the implications to our services and have come to the conclusion that the consolidation of the Fordham Health Sciences Library with Dunbar Library will help us accomplish this goal. In addition to being responsive to the current budget constraints, this consolidation will also re-purpose space that will be converted into needed classrooms to support our growing enrollment.
The team from the University Libraries is in the process of planning and implementing a consolidation of the Dunbar Library and the Fordham Health Science Library. We are working to integrate the services and collections that are now in two separate libraries, eventually combining them all into the space currently occupied by the Dunbar Library. Your input to this process is greatly appreciated.
