Diversity Vision Statement
The University Libraries are committed to promoting an educational,
cultural, and work environment that is responsive to Wright
State University's increasingly multicultural community. Accordingly,
the Libraries will foster and encourage sensitivity to diversity
among its patrons and staff and will continuously work to
further the intellectual diversity of its collections and
services.
In its important role of supporting the teaching, research,
and service missions of the University, the Libraries collect
and facilitate access to information and ideas. We affirm
that knowledge will advance and intellectual excellence flourish
as a direct result of diverse experiences and viewpoints shared
freely in an open environment.
We are strongly committed to providing our community with
equitable access to the Libraries' resources, and to our employees,
equal advancement opportunities without regard to race, sex,
creed, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation,
ancestry, age, marital status, handicap, or veteran status.
We also strongly committed to provide our staff with a workplace
free from prejudice and discrimination, where the personal
dignity and worth of each individual is appreciated and celebrated.
We invite members of the University community to suggest
ways that we may advance this policy.
